M2M / IOT Veteran Tim Lapham Joins Geoforce as General Manager, Asia Pacific

DALLAS, TEXAS, USA and MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – March 8th, 2017 – Geoforce, a world leader in providing global traceability solutions for field equipment, announced today the appointment of Tim Lapham as its General Manager, Asia Pacific.

At Geoforce, Mr. Lapham will develop and manage Geoforce’s business in Australia and Asia, and serve as a Director of the Geoforce (Australia) PTY LTD entity. Based in Melbourne, among his responsibilities will be serving and supporting Geoforce’s diverse customer base in the region and the establishment of channel relationships with partners that share Geoforce’s vision for connecting the world’s field assets to the internet.

“Having worked for over 14 years in M2M/IoT and built a GPS tracking business across Asia, Tim is uniquely qualified to lead efforts in a region vital to our growth,” said James MacLean, President & CEO of Geoforce. “With field assets in Australia located in remote and often harsh environments, our rugged battery-powered satellite-based GPS tracking devices are ideally suited for this market. In Asia, transportation and logistics hubs are critical to the global economy. With these factors in play, we’re confident Geoforce will find lasting success in Asia Pacific.”

“Geoforce excites me because of its strong team of industry and technology professionals, and because it has proven itself as the world’s #1 provider of GPS solutions for Oil & Gas. This has allowed Geoforce to build a truly global customer base,” said Mr. Lapham. “Now that Geoforce has traction in more traditional mobile asset management and tracking markets, we will continue to develop opportunities in Asia Pacific in field operations intensive industries, with a focus on more traditional transport and logistics opportunities.”

“I’ve always focused on the customer experience and ensuring customers realize tangible benefits,” continued Mr. Lapham. “So it’s refreshing to work with a company like Geoforce that is so focused on the customer and recognizing the specific challenges they face in field operations.”

Prior to Geoforce, Mr. Lapham served as General Manager of Asia for Securatrak, a leading provider of turnkey GPS tracking and fleet management solutions for fleets throughout Australasia. Based in Vietnam, he led Securatrak’s push into countries like Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

Prior to that, Mr. Lapham led the development of the Machine to Machine (M2M) business and Mobility Partner Program at Telstra, Australia’s largest Telco. Mr. Lapham has also led the development of tracking and telemetry solutions for both the transport and taxi industries. He also worked at Linfox Australia to manage the development of their in-vehicle data acquisition strategy, ultimately assuming the role of CIO for Linfox Armaguard.
